Tribute to Meriem Cooper aka Cavewoman, created by Budd Root and drawn over time by Devon Massey, Rob Durham and others.

I like the science fiction aspect of her origin, and that she has super-human abilities. When jungle adventurers are mixed with the super-hero genre, I find it the most interesting. (See also Terra Obscura / Princess Pantha)

I love the idea of the  jungle hero / heroine being a superhero and fighting alongside other dressed-up heroes in the concrete jungle of New York. That’s why I had her join my peculiar super-team Captain Evening and The Odds.

It reminds me of Pantha in Alan Moore and Peter Hogan's Terra Obscura, Ka-Zar and Shanna's appearance back in the New Ultimates, or the classic movie Tarzan's New York Adventure.

Jung-La has just debuted in Tales To Behold #6, available from BirdCageBottom Books.

The New Line-Up

For a while, the line-up of Captain Evening and The Odds consisted only of the Living Skeleton, the Blue Knight, Merv the Griffin and the Captain himself (see Tales To Behold 5).
Now there's a new member– Jung-La, the fierce female fury! Of course, this was planned since the beginning, as this post from 2010 shows. It just took the BEHOLDER a while to get to this point!

To save his building and his killer-drones from further damage, Dr Brain enters negotiations with the present Odds. Can he talk his way out of this precarious situation? Jung-La seems optimistic about a peaceful resolution!

Jenny Anywhere and Jung-La

Inspired by the recent appearance of Jenny Anywhere in the webcomic Kaza's Mate, Gwenna, your cosmic entity colored this piece of the intrepid dimensional traveler together with the Queen of the Concrete Jungle. This variation of the Open Source Character Jenny Everywhere hasn't appeared in the BEHOLDERverse yet, but this universal observer is responsible for the color design of her.
