Looks like we have a brand-new hero! He’s called The Auctioneer! And he’s completely selfless in his actions, for sure! In the second panel, we have guest stars: Captain Perfect and Jeanette, second and third strongest heroes in the world! Giving a hand reigning in those creepy crawlies. |

Flash forward a few days later: all hands on deck to contain the invasion of giant comic book insects. Yes, in true funny book manner, these are not even scientifically accurate. But that didn’t stop them from a massive incursion into our realm! As the situation is precarious and a large crisis, Centennia has sprung into action, we can also see Captain Rhys of Section P (courtesy of James Damaged), Blue Knight, and even “Alan” being somehow in the middle of all this. |

Splash page time! The remaining villain returns from the comic book realm as an Insect Raider, alongside a lot of new associates! Captain Evening and the team got their priorities right at moment’s notice, the auctioneer less so… or perhaps he’s the only one who got it right…? Classic pose that was certainly subconsciously inspired by the film poster for “Heavy Metal”, by Moebius’ Arzach, and by Reinder Dijkhuis’ “Tes Durban”, though our scratchy scribbling didn’t do any Justice to the originals. |

Reinforcements arrive at the scene! Blue Knight, Living Skeleton and “Alan” enter the fray. The Knight (aka “Dennis” aka “Denise”) struggled to put the armor on properly in the car, obviously, but luckily fixed things as soon as they arrived. You can see previous amazing deeds of this sword on the last page… oh wait, never mind, the action already continues! |

Comic books as escapism– this gives a whole new meaning to the phrase! Liath is losing her patience with these nogoodniks, just as the second Raider is discovering the magical properties of her sword– it can cut through barriers between realms. Even into a comic-book realm?! This is new! The immediate danger has passed / is contained, but it wouldn’t be The Odds if they didn’t heed their responsibility to get the gangster (and their sword). |

The “Renegade Raiders” examine their booty (heh), and lose track of their hostage. Such amateurish mistakes get punished right away by such experienced crime fighters as Captain Evening and The Odds! Alas, the second dude still has a hostage of a kind… the most precious kind! And he has Liath’s big, sharp, magic sword! |

What, not us, creating an alternative history in which insect comics were wildly popular in the 1940? That seems a wee unrealistic… But yes, the Odds and their superhero colleagues have all sorts of assignments, and rightfully so– you never know where evil might rear its ugly head! Even in cowboy attire! It does often mean the Odds split into smaller teams. Thankfully, there’s a lot of them… Aideen O’Neil has transformed into mighty Liath for THIS?!, she grumbles… Meanwhile, Ionic Angel is happy to fight for Justice anywhere she’s needed. Captain Evening leads the way on this appropriately sequentially themed mission. |

| All this commotion is bringing out various denizens and visitors of The Odds’ headquarters, and lo and behold (sic), the “wife” in question is none other than Dennis, our Blue Knight! Is this man crazy? We know Dennis had a life before the Odds (see Tales To Behold 3), before she was magically merged with her ancestor, an actual medieval knight, Dennis was a Scotland Yard inspector. But nobody ever said she was married?! On this page we also see Lori the Vampire, Captain Rhys and Aideen O’Neil (aka Liath), by James Damaged, and Ionic Angel by Burstlion. |
