The Unraveling P10: Floating World

Instead of following and investigating a possible source for these surreal and fantastical phenomena, our heroes have to deal with the fallout and prevent collateral damage to the New Yorkers who are literally swept up in the process!

While Jimmy Wherever continues to have car trouble, Jenny Everywhere and Anywhere are using their “shifting” powers to teleport people out of their floating and falling vehicles!

The Unraveling P09: Car Trouble

Checking in with some of our other heroes… or rather villains, and heroes! They are doing their best to help out, and to stay alive, while being no closer to finding out the source of all the chaos!

The Unraveling P08: Earthly Rules for Celestial Warriors

What glorious battle scenes – even some heavenly onlookers agree! (These are some colleagues of Father Zeus.)

Of course, there are still rules to uphold, and Terry Tornado takes her job seriously!

The Unraveling P07: the Main Event

Wow! After Zeus got humiliated and almost eliminated, he has decided des his best vengeance on these pesky mortals is to beat them at their own game– with his bare hands and his son by his side!

Talk about a Main Event! Nothing like this has ever happened in the history of professional wrestling!

Guest-referee Terry Tornado will have her work cut out for her !

The Unraveling P06: Daddy Issues

Our Herakles thought he could do some undignified roughhousing behind his father’s back. But mighty Zeus has apparently TV on Olympus, too! The father of the Greek gods has seen it all, and he is NOT pleased. But suddenly, matters take an even worse turn…!

The Unraveling P05: A Monster Punch

While there’s a monster confrontation in the arena, and Herakles is throwing mighty punches, the chaos in the city continues… Thankfully, all of its heroes are on the job. But will it be enough?

Unraveling P04: Extraordinary Escalation

Who would have thought that the sequel to our “Ballad of Anywhere” would be a super-powered wrestling match!
If we thought Banger and Mash were ugly before…
Let our Main Event begin!

Unraveling P03: Ladies Night Out

As faithful follower of our extraordinary exploits, of course you’ve recognized the heroic White Light, her daughter Jesse Brain, and the villainous Wicked Witch Alicia (her best frenemy). Admittedly, this page was drawn quite a while ago, when Jesse was still wearing her wicked vestments, and her hair a bit shorter.

Unraveling P02: Sunday Slam!

It looks like the son of Zeus has reeeally learned his lesson 😏 This is the first appearance of professional super-brawlers Banger and Mash.

You all know Terry Tornado, of course. Former professional wrestler and super-powered cheerleader, now super-powered part-time adventurer, part spokeswoman and fitness model with a sunny disposition, and all-around awesome participant in some of our greatest superheroic epics!

Unraveling P01: Lofty Promises

Wow, our latest chapter begins in some lofty heights!

Do you remember when Herakles himself was part of our periodic presentations?

Yes, it was during the final chapter of “Journey Into Misery (Book 5)! Very unceremoniously and abruptly, he and his super-teammates of the Mighty Protectors were dispatched of, by The Cosmic Solution.

Since then, the government has been trying to build successor teams, with varying success.

But an Olympian is not easy to destroy, of course…

The Great Sunday Night Unraveling! (Cover)

Here we are! Finally, the exciting continuation of our “Anywhere” storyline begins! Almost. For now, it’s “only” the cover of our latest venture. But can you feel the excitement??

In fact, this is the third part of a trilogy that began with “Adventures of the Human Tree”!

We can’t wait to share the newest hijinks with you!

Which clues and characters can you spot, faithful mortals??

To avoid false advertising, for all of you fans of Jenny Everywhere and Anywhere, we do have to admit that in this sequel, the baton of main protagonist is passed on to a few other of our denizens of the BEHOLDERverse– as we often like to do! But fear not, both of our spunky teleporting Open-Source stars will be appearing, and on the very last page, The Shifter herself will have to face a fateful reunion!

Return to the Mighty Bares cover

There wasn’t a cover for our recent story at the Mighty Bares textile-free camp site, yet inspiration struck belatedly, and even though it doesn’t include all the characters, and it’s coming late, it’s better than nothing!

What’s this about ?? Just read our previous story and you’ll find out!

Return to the Mighty Bares P 07

Disguised as tree and bush, the burglars were no March for climate change summer heat! And they gladly explained their agenda, in exchange for ample water and a spot in the shade. Who can blame them, not knowing the police had found their loot– they had been “in the slammer” for years!

We sincerely hope you enjoyed this little detour in our Tales, freshly from the desk of our human chronicler of the adventures of these heroes we Behold! (For better image quality, please click on the pic).

NEXT: We return to our longer ongoing saga, continuing where we left off with Jennys, dimensional catastrophes and robots with pegs in their heads!

Return to the Mighty Bares P06

Our heroes didn’t expect the chutzpah of the regular residents! So it’s back to square one.. again!

But, as we all know, sometimes the best solution to a problem is doing nothing, and waiting, relaxing naked in the shade! Our magical cat-girl reacts instantly, as she notices these guys…

Return to the Mighty Bares P 05

We’re laying a trap for the burglars, and we’re laying in waiting, so there’s occasional for some hanky panky. Lady Venus, mother of jungle hero Kaza, is enjoying the fact that she’s the only lady in the Captain’s tent for the duration of the vacation.

Regarding our visual problems, we’re trying a different approach, just click on the main image for a better visual experience.

Return to the Mighty Bares P 04

The night has begun, the heat goes on, our two heroic heroes are trying to shed some light on dark circumstances! Meanwhile, Burst Lion changes back into her human form, for climatic reasons… Lady Venus by Jay Epps. Burst Lion by burstlion.

Again, we apologize for any pixelated display issues, and offer a larger version when you click the little thumbnail pic here.

Return to the Mighty Bares P 03

And because our different format for this exciting new story is showing up somewhat rough, here is a thumbnail of a bigger version of this page, for your reading pleasure. Just click on it and enjoy!

Return to the Mighty Bares P 02

Captain Evening and his friends have set up camp, so to say, at the Mighty Bares clothing-optional site, and are enjoying their first night under the stars.
A little extra note: the pages are differently proportioned as a nod to the original inspiration, the “Bare Pit” / “Louie & Zoot“ comic strips by Grace Crowley, and more recently, Greyfriar’s Isle and other online comics by Reinder Dijkhuis.

Return to the Mighty Bares P 01

It is summer in New York, and it is very hot. So it is time to get rid of all clothes and visit The Mighty Bares Naturist Camp! Please enjoy this little romp before we get back to our Anywhere storyline!

Mr Mighty, former superheroic mentor to Captain Evening, is the proprietor of the site. This time, it’s Captain Evening, Lady Venus, Burst Lion and Merv the Griffin who made the trip. Just like in real life, they are going through a heatwave. Thankfully, there is a pool…

Lady Venus created by Jay Epps. Burst Lion created by… herself!

(P.S. Working on getting a higher resolution version for your viewing pleasure).

Doubt of the Dreadful 12: Zombie Vacation
