Unraveling P01: Lofty Promises

Wow, our latest chapter begins in some lofty heights!

Do you remember when Herakles himself was part of our periodic presentations?

Yes, it was during the final chapter of “Journey Into Misery (Book 5)! Very unceremoniously and abruptly, he and his super-teammates of the Mighty Protectors were dispatched of, by The Cosmic Solution.

Since then, the government has been trying to build successor teams, with varying success.

But an Olympian is not easy to destroy, of course…

Young Protectors on Break

Americana Jr and Young Herakles enjoying some rest in the park. A.Jr sure is happy to have ALL of YH’s attention for once, as she has a secret crush on her teammate.

A former teen model and a junior bodybuilder, we’ve seen their latest adventures in full here on THE BEHOLDER, a story that tells the true founding of the main team, the All-New Protectors, and their junior offshoot plays a part in it:

These Young Protectors were originally conceived as a marketing ploy, models and teen actors that could go to PR events as the supposed understudies, while the “real” Protectors would fly around saving the world.

Never was it truly planned to bring them into the proper team once they completed their training. But these young individuals have feelings and ambitions, too, and dream of heroic acts, of being a true inspiration for the young population!

So much so, that a previous third member literally “exploded” from feeling disrespected. While that third member has been MIA, these two have tried to carry on as well as they can. Let’s wish them luck!

Protectors Under New Management

Kate Kerrigan became Director of the government Department for Superheroics through a bit of luck, but she has proven her worth since.

After her predecessors’ two fairly unsuccessful attempts to form a government-sponsored super-team of titanic strength, she has put together a smaller team, but with some high-profile and quite popular heroes. This has boosted the Protectors’ popularity and the public’s trust in the institution.

(You can read the latest story with them here on the blog: https://cosmicbeholder.blogspot.com/search?q=All-New+Protectors&max-results=20&by-date=true&m=1

Meanwhile, in today’s post here, Ms. Kerrigan can be seen with two of her four All-New, All-Different Protectors: Max Atom, field leader of the team and a famous hero originally from Earth-K, and Terry Tornado, the former sports star and part-time spokesperson for BoFlex products, look like they are on their way to an important meeting, perhaps hearing about their next mission. Let’s wish them luck, and Godspeed! We’re counting on you!
